Kindle editions are back

October 10, 2009 3:28 pm

Amazon seem to have finally started catching up with their backlog of emails and we’re happy to say that the Kindle editions of RealmShift and MageSign are available again. The price now matches the Smashwords and DriveThru price of US$2.89 each. That’s less than a cup of coffee! It also looks like they’ve kicked in the region coding plan, so if you’re looking from Australia, for example, you won’t see pricing information and there’s a nice green box telling you that you can’t have a copy. Of course, in that case you just go to Smashwords and buy DRM-free Kindle compatible editions from there.

There’s also talk of Amazon rolling the Kindle reader out to other countries very soon, at least including the UK and Australia. Given that there’s no amazon.com.au, it’ll be interesting to see how they handle this situation.

You can find the Amazon Kindle editions of RealmShift here and MageSign here. Tell your friends.

Formatting error on Smashwords ebooks

September 20, 2009 8:55 pm

A reader was kind enough to point out to us recently that the epub versions of RealmShift and MageSign had a formatting error. It seems that the font size switched between 10 point and 12 point fairly randomly throughout both books on some readers.

Having investigated, it turned out to be publisher error. Isn’t it always? The problem has been fixed now, so if you bought a copy or RealmShift and/or MageSign and downloaded the epub version, you can go back to Smashwords now and download the corrected book at no cost. If you have any other problems, please do let us know.

You can get the correctly formatted books on Smashwords at the following links:

RealmShift

MageSign

If you haven’t got them, why not? They’re only US$2.89 each now as ebooks. Go on, treat yourself.

“…a gripping, thought-provoking tale that evokes a strong response within the reader, both on an emotional and an intellectual level…” – David Wood, author of Dourado and Cibola

And some of the things that have been said about MageSign:

“Don’t let fear of Yath-vados stand between you and a great read!”
Van Ikin – Editor, “Science Fiction”

“a fast paced supernatural adventure that will leave readers rethinking how they view the Cosmos.”

“…a gritty tale of blood rituals, mystery, and mysticism… grabs hold of the reader and doesn’t let go.”
David Wood, Author of Dourado and Cibola

“difficult to pin to any particular genre … fantastic qualities … horrific at times. “MageSign” is a great addition by Alan Baxter, and I highly recommend it.”
